FollowJava 8 support is coming in AIP 8.1
The R&D team is working on the support of Java 8 for release in AIP 8.1. The Java 8 support will cover every aspect of the language, including lambda functions and method references (function pointers).
The alpha versions of 8.1 are already available and implements parser-level support (meaning no more grammatical errors on Java 8 constructs), which enables initial testing on real applications. The beta version planned for early April will have complete support.
If you want to try it out on your own Java 8 applications, you can volonteer to get involved in the alpha/beta program, or even share your applications with CAST to allow the R&D team to use them for internal testing.
