CAST Imaging 2.20.0 – alpha1

A new alpha version Imaging - 2.20.0 is available with some new features and enhancements.

New:

Highlight Immediate Callers/Callees - A new option has been added in the right-click context menu under the "Highlight in view" option called "Immediate Caller/Callees". It allows users to highlight the immediate callers and callees for the selected object in a view.

Add children and Add parent - A new option has been added in the right-click context menu under "Add Dependencies", It allows users to view "Children" or "Parent" objects for the selected object in the current view.

Custom Aggregation View Links - In Custom Aggregation views, you can examine the intensity of connections among aggregated nodes by visualizing the appearance of edges (varying width and colour) based on the number of references.

Link Origin- A new section titled "Link Origin" has been incorporated under the Objects and Links Legends on the Right Panel. This section comprises a list of link origin types, which aids users in validating the source of the link. For instance, it allows users to determine if the link is valid according to the specifications outlined in the source code, or if it has been generated through pattern matching during analysis and requires validation for its reliability. Furthermore, a Link Origin filter has been integrated into the "Filter object and links" section of the right panel, empowering users to filter objects and links based on their link origin.

Note: Link origin information is now available even for References links and the certainty link description is displayed in the link tooltip as well as the link properties description in the right panel.

Admin panel - Manage AI feature - A new tile 'AI features' is introduced where users can input the API key for AI options (previously located on the license tile). This new “AI features” tile also provides an option to enable/disable AI features such as Explain Code with AI, and Assistant Chatbot per tenant.

Enhancements:

Search in CAST Imaging

• Added filter for selecting External, Internal, or All objects.
• Two new options to search based on: "Comment before object" and "Source Code Comments”.
• The columns of the global search modal are now resizable. They can be resized by dragging the separators between the column’s headers.

View Info

View Information is available as part of the graph info panel which helps the user understand the view.

Tags at All Levels, Perspectives, and Aggregations

The Tagging feature, earlier limited to the object level, is now available at All Levels, Perspectives, and Aggregations.

UI Changes

• The Transaction and DCG Search Modal design is made consistent with the new global search design.
• App to app search UI has been improved for a better user experience.

Bulk Tag/Annotate

The functionality is now accessible under the config centre and is application-specific, driven by resource permissions. By default, all default roles will possess create and read permissions for these resources, except the user role, which will only have read permission. Users can create new roles and assign resource permissions to any role as needed.

Manage Level 5 Nodes

This feature is now driven by resource permissions. Users can create new roles and assign resource permissions to any role as needed.

Advisor source code bookmarks
