CAST Console - Upgrade - AIP Console Service does not start after upgrade

 

After upgrading AIP Console to 1.26 from 1.24.3, it is observed that the AIP Console service is not starting.

Error stack is as shown below -

org.springframework.beans.factory.parsing.BeanDefinitionParsingException: Configuration problem: You cannot use a spring-security-2.0.xsd or spring-security-3.0.xsd or spring-security-3.1.xsd schema or spring-security-3.2.xsd schema or spring-security-4.0.xsd schema with Spring Security 5.4. Please update your schema declarations to the 5.4 schema.

Step by Step scenario

  1. Migrate AIP Console from a lower version to a higher version as per the documentation here - Upgrade process
  2. Try to start the Console service. 

 

Action Plan

The issue occurs because the version of spring-security-x.x. is not updated in the AIP Console file - <Console Installation>/AipConsole/application-security-local.xml

To solve the issue,  Perform the below actions

  1. Open the file - <Console Installation>/AipConsole/application-security-local.xml
  2. Change the value of spring-security-5.3.xsd to spring-security-5.4.xsd
  3. You can start your AIP Console service after this. 
  4. If the above steps do not solve your issue contact CAST Technical Support. with the following Relevant inputfor CAST Technical Support to carry out further investigations.
