During the installation of V3 on a Windows single-server environment, the installation may fail while validating the health status of the Imaging Console service.
The installer reports that the Imaging Console service is not reachable, and the installation process is terminated.
[ERROR][CONSOLE] Checking "http://localhost:8091/actuator/health" terminated with error.
[ERROR][CONSOLE] cast-imaging-console-service is not reachable.
[ERROR] ERROR. Failed to install the Imaging Console component.
[ERROR] Stopping the installation process
Resolution
The installation failure occurs because the PostgreSQL host-based authentication configuration file (pg_hba.conf) does not contain an entry allowing connections from the IP address used by the Imaging Console service.
As a result:
- The Imaging Console service cannot establish a connection to the PostgreSQL database.
- The service fails to initialize successfully.
- The health check endpoint (http://localhost:8091/actuator/health) does not return a healthy status.
- The installer identifies the Imaging Console service as unreachable and terminates the installation.
- Check whether the IP address used by the Imaging Console service is configured in pg_hba.conf. If the required entry is missing, PostgreSQL may reject the connection with an error " no pg_hba.conf entry for host <IP>"
- Add the appropriate host-based authentication entry for the required application server IP address.
- Confirm that the Imaging Console service can establish a connection to PostgreSQL.
- Restart the V3 installation process.
