CAST HIGHLIGHT - Results - Code Insights - Technology drop down includes those DB technologies which are not in source.

Scanner is able to identify the DB technology and generate code insights just for that technology, but the Technology drop down in Code Insights section lists all the DB technologies.

Workaround or Action Plan

These cases in general are due to having *.sql files which are not compliant with enough analysis criteria.
Since most of the files are provided with a .sql extension, Highlight cannot make the distinction between SQL technologies since the syntax is very close.Hence multiple technologies may be listed during the scan. Ideally the user (typically the application owner should know the technology and should select the right technology.)

  1. Please use explicit file extensions with the right technology e.g. rename files in .tsql if you know this is T-SQL which will provide better results. This is documented in the Getting Started guide.
  2. Another workaround for this would be not to load the CSV result files for the SQL technologies that are not found or to remove them from the analysis results that have been uploaded.
  3. You can also specify specific technologies when scanning with the CLI as another option.
