CAST Highlight portal is slow or not able to load the page.
Action Plan
- Check if any upgrades made recently in the product is causing the issue.
-
Check if the issue is due to policies such as the website is forbidden by your company network. Please refer CAST HIGHLIGHT - Web - CAST Highlight website home page going into a loop of refreshing itself
- Check if changing the browser solves the issue.
-
Check if many tabs that are open in the browser, which maybe consuming more CPU is the issue.
- Check if the browser requirements mentioned in https://doc.casthighlight.com/Getting-Started-Guide.pdf are met.
-
Check the API logs (.har file) from the browser, when the issue occurs, to see where it is taking longer.
-
If it is in the Manage Catalog Components page slowness in loading is seen, check if it is because of the insertion of lots of entries in the allow/deny whitelist/blacklist lists for components.
- Check if there already are very large number of applications undergoing processing which may cause the performance issue while loading the page.
-
- Check if result pagination of dashboards for portfolios over 1,000 applications can be activated to improve performance. The result pagination can be activated by CAST on a given portfolio. However the command line must be of a version >= 5.3.56 which is compatible with the result pagination feature as it shares some API resources. Once activated, the dashboards load by default the 1,000 most recent apps. From here, the user can go to next/previous 1,000 apps or expand to the full application scope. This will make the home page load much faster. To see the full list of applications click on the expand icon.
-
Remove application snapshots that are eligible for data retention policy to improve performance. Application snapshot retention status information is available for Portfolio Managers from COMPANIES > Scan Result Retention. Snapshots are listed with the corresponding status (Maintain vs. Archive). The scan retention policy is not automatically enabled for all portfolios. Depending on the number of applications and the scanning frequency of each application, portfolios are regularly checked by CAST for eligibility. If your portfolio meets these criteria, a CAST consultant will contact you and the scan retention policy will be enabled by CAST for your portfolio so that you can preview which applications will be maintained or archived. Please refer Data Retention Policy and Notifications
- If you are not processing the apps then raise this issue with the CAST support team so that they can check in the SAS server, whether any other client is processing a huge number of applications. If this is the issue the performance issue generally resolves on its own once the processing is complete. Please refer CAST HIGHLIGHT - Result Processing - Submitted application processing is slow
